Sunday, June 1801: 24 stereoAfter a morning of steady rain, I stood on the spillway cover admidst beavers, ducks, warblers, finches, tree frogs, and mosquitos. A large buck walked through the marsh about 70 yards away.
Fishing Spot

Sunday, June 18 00:53 stereoSomebody's favorite fishing hole. Bullfrogs, morning doves, field sparrows, finches, red-winged blackbirds and bumble bees. I was surprised how clear the fishermen's voices were as they motored down the river.

In my clock-wise circle around the marsh I heard a few, brief calls. This group was in a stand of willows about 100 yards Northeast of the Preserve Monument.

East of the metal shed and water well that shows on the WDNR plot under the canopy of some 2-3' diameter White Oak trees. By this time on Sunday afternoon, there was steady stream of commercial jets approaching General Mitchell Airport from the southwest.

I decided to walk and see what I could see protected by a large umbrella. The freight train is probably on the East Troy leg of the Tomahawk Line about 2-3 miles away.

The recordings were made with forward-facing, Rapid 35-1090 ECM omni mic capsules placed on the outside of headphones. The recorder was a Hi-MD Sony model NH700. My thanks to Tom Robinson for sending me these mic capsules to experiment with!
